You Have No Clue
Perhaps I'm overbearing, too protective,
So you say,
That I should back off gracefully,
And not stand in her way.
To pamper her-but just enough,
Be not so overblown,
Allow her battles to be fought,
By her and her alone.
Don't think I'm not appreciative,
Although I think you're nice-
You're quick to judge my every move,
So full of bold advice.
Until you've given birth, my friend,
Until you've filled my shoes,
Forgive my brazen statement,
When I say you have no clue.
Someday if God so blesses...
You'll hold your own child's hand,
And then and only THEN,
Will you start to understand.
