You Do Hear My Prayers

Dare I think my prayers get through?
I'm presumptuous as can be-
Dear Lord -innumerable pleas abound,
How've You time for me?

Those whose plight is more severe...
And anguish far exceeds,
The likes of mine-and yet, I, too
Have open wounds that bleed.

Impossible, though it may seem,
This sinner so undeserved,
You've found the time, compassion, love,
My prayers, yes, you have heard!

With faith that's wavered, a selfish heart,
A simple small town girl,
While burdened with the world's dismay-
You've still enriched my world.

And heard my vague attempts at prayer,
And sifted through my mess,
Dear Lord, in fact, my prayers GOT through,
For I am truly blessed.
