Seed Time
There's an old Indian saying,
"The crop is worth more than the seed."
The seed we plant in our children's hearts
are what they will someday reap.
If we plant worldly treasures
that is what they'll seek and
they may be happy in this world
but what about eternity?
Did we plant God's word
and teach them about his love?
Did we tell them about Jesus
and all he's done for us?
The words that they hear
and the examples they see
make a lasting impression
and may determine their destiny.
Everything they see and hear
leaves an impression in their mind
and plants a seed in their heart
that will grow in its own time.
Our time on earth is short
compared to eternity,
so be careful what you plant,
for that's what you'll surely reap.
It is our God given duty to teach
our children right from wrong,
They may stray for a season,
but God's word will not return void.
Don't be discouraged
when your efforts seem in vain.
You can rely on God's promise and
this is what he said,"Train up a child
in the way he should go and when
he is old he will not depart from it."
It may seem that your good seed
is lying in their heart dormant,
but someday it will sprout wings
and take your child to Heaven.
So have faith my friend,
and never give up.
go on planting good seed
and leave the rest up to God.
