My Dear Robbie
Today, I remember in a special way
The way I held you, a tiny bundle
With curly brown hair,
your eyes full of wonder.
You took the world at hand, enjoying
everything that crossed your way.
You never stopped to ask why
You had to live and fly.
The sky was the limit
Anything you wanted, you got it.
I look back on those years
Even with all my fears,
You lived life the way you wanted.
I wonder what kind of man you'd be
If you were still here with me.
One of compassion and love
As I see in the mourning dove,
Your quiet coo, a flowing flight,
A smile on your face full of delight.
Rest in peace my son,
I will love you always.
