Mom loved to work in the garden and loved to cook
It was like a little paradise everywhere you'd look
Her appreciation for music was so contagious

And a measure of kindness can make someone's day
A cup of coffee served with a smile
A slice of cake and a chat for a while.

A home-cooked meal is like giving a hug
She served kindness and love in a great big mug
And food for the body as well as the soul
Is so very important, so do your role...

Serving bowlfuls of love and armfuls of affection
'til the recipe's finished right to perfection
Make things for everyone, friends and enemies too
for the recipe will always return to you...

better than the first time you passed it around
because others revise it...and more love abounds
Share recipes of love with one another
And always add more love...as did your mother.
