One Last Prayer

With one last prayer and a final push,
You entered this crazy world.
I heard such sweetness when you cried,
God presented me my girl.

Your Daddy's eyes were filled with tears,
You'd finally made it home,
This precious bundle on my chest
Had a heartbeat of its' own.

I've marveled at your dainty limbs,
Desperately reaching for love,
And your open mouth seeking my breast
Even when you've eaten enough.

To watch you suckle and hold me tight,
Is a sight I can't describe-
I've fallen hopelessly in love,
I'm thrilled that you're alive.

Beauty lies in your little smile,
Your face is pure as gold,
That fragile body so delicate
Is heaven for me to hold.

An empty space inside my heart
Is finally complete
I'll never be alone again,
Now that you're with me.

I've not experienced love this pure,
Nor have kissed an angel's brow,
Or gazed into the eyes of God,
The way that I can now.
