Journey Home
My life on earth has been completed.
I will soar above the clouds,
above the heavens like an eagle
with his wings stretched forth
sailing above the universe.
My spirit likewise has taken its flight.
Like a vapor my soul came forth,
destined for the rebirth of my life beyond.
A land of peace, joy, happiness and eternal life.
The aches and pain have passed away,
I have gone from being immortal to immortality.
I am at peace forevermore
Grieve not for me,
for my journey has been long and weary.
The road was rough and often I stumbled.
There were times that you never recognized
my failures. But Jesus in his infinite mercies
stretched forth his hands to pick me up,
helping me along my journey.
I looked back and there were His footprints.
Where he carried me over the trials
and test that life offered.
As I fell asleep I drifted through a tunnel.
The light was so radiant and
bright that it blinded me.
An awakening stirred within me
as I approached the end of my journey.
There I beheld Jesus, arms outstretched
welcoming me home.
I bowed on my knees crying out "Holy, Holy, Holy."
Once again He lifted me up,
stepping into the portals of Glory,
Home at last.
