I met someone who knows you,
And I brought up your name.
It wasn't meant as gossip,
But about you just the same.

I mentioned several things I'd heard
About your marriage strife,
And maybe one or two more things
I've heard about your life.

I must admit I tell the things
You've said in confidence
Not meaning to be hurtful,
And not across the fence,
But in my secret closet
Where I talk to God in prayer
Your name is mentioned often
When I meet with Jesus there.
