The Hardest Thing To Do


So many times I've cried,
All those times I've been so blue
trying to make a life without you,
It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

Why did you leave me?
I wasn't ready for you to go.
We were going to grow old together,
side by side holding on to each other.

Now I set here all alone
with no one to hold on to.
What am I to do?
Spend the rest of my life
all alone without you?

I pray each night for God
to give me the strength
to carry on without you.

I set here each day remembering our life
together, for that's all I have to hold on to.
Waiting for God to take me to heaven
so I can be with you.

I set here by myself as each day goes by
Doing what I can to rise above sin,
so I can come to heaven to be with you.

God give me strength to carry on
until you call me to heaven
To be with you too.

I was scared to go,
wanting to see all my children grow.
Now I know I can't live forever
to help make their lives better.
