Good Bye's
We said good by in the driveway
Then crying I stumbled back in the house
The room that had been filled with loved ones
Was now as quiet as a mouse
My daughter had just left for her home
One grandchild left the day before
Would that be the last time I see them?
I am afraid to guess anymore
The passing of time has so worn us
That like a tree which is ready to fall
It sometimes feels like we are just waiting
To answer our makers call
For the spring is gone from our footsteps
Our shoulders are bent from the years
Nothing seems to work like it use to
Except sometimes we cry bigger tears
In spite of all this we are happy
That together we passed this way
It's just that right now I feel sadness
For I said goodby to a loved one today
