Did Anybody Care?
Welcome home My special child
Your work on earth is through.
Now tell Me, on your trip down there
Just how did they treat you?
I know that you were different,
Upturned eyes and chubby face,
But I sent you with My blessing
And an extra dose of grace.
I thought someone would cherish you
Throughout your few short years.
Tell Me, did they love you like they should
Or cause you many tears?
Did they talk about the way you looked
Or poke fun as you walked?
Did they see your greatest need was love
Or laugh at how you talked?
I thought you were so special
When I sent you down to earth.
Tell me, did you find someone to care
Who loved you for your worth?
Was there anyone at all on earth
One person you could find
To see the special child you were
Or were they all unkind?
Did they see the love inside of you
Or turn and walk away,
Could they tell how just one little hug
Would brighten your whole day?
You were made a chosen vessel
Sent to test the people there.
Tell Me, when you were on earth My child
Did anybody care?
