Daddy's Love

I remember when I was a child
As I sat on my daddy's knee
All the love I saw shining in his eyes
And I knew it was just for me

I grew up with his quiet strength
He was never far away
I could always feel his love for me
Though the words he would rarely say

I was secure in daddy's love
It took me through many a storm
When darkness of night crept about me
His love kept me safe and warm

My daddy was a man of few words
But his love spoke volumes to me
It has been a faithful companion
To carry me over life's sea

From a little girl to the woman I am
His love taught me how to give
Daddy, thank you for being my hero
By your love I learned how to live
