Bring me flowers of life
To gladden my beating heart,
Rather than flowers of death,
To lie beside stone and rot.

Give me love and smiles
That I can feel and see,
Rather than 'false' tears
To satisfy your own vanity.

Weep not beside my lifeless form,
But give me hugs for my body and soul
While they still be warm!

Rush not to the side of my body
Lying lifeless there,
But visit me now, while I'm alive,
And while I can still care!
