Reaching out with gentleness To show the love that's there Hope that when I sit by her These words I speak she'll hear Little stories that I tell With morals that are set Gathered in her little heart I pray she won't forget Fairy tales for her a dream But life will not be kind We can never teach a child What sadness she might find Hope to give her wisdom now In words that I have shared Know that in the years to come Her road in life prepared Little one my wish for you That goodness you will see Within my heart I hold a thought You gather strength from me Can't protect you from the world From things in life that hurt But in this time we share in joy It's love that I assert.
