Almost

Alone in my memories, as I gaze up at the stars,
I can almost see your face and almost hear your voice.
I can almost hear you say "Mom, don't be sad, I'm here.
No matter where you are, always know I'm near."

As I listen to the wind and feel its sweet caress,
I can almost feel your touch and hear you whisper
"Mom, be brave. the time we shared seemed short,
but I'm never far away."

I can't see the wind but I know it does exist,
and your love is always with me,
though your soul is now at rest.
Some day I will join you, until then I must be brave.
Yesterday is gone forever, but I still have my memories.
