A Heart For Peace

I have a heart to see peace rise
And consume man's very soul;
Nations that really want to help the sick,
The homeless, and the poor.

I am just a person who found love,
Down in His heart.
We must want to change,
Before God can even start.
Somehow, we must want to love
And not see pain endure.

People, if you will listen,
I will tell you of a plan
that might even curve thoughts of war
And save the soul of man.

The Bible speaks all we need,
To help us all to see.
Jesus came and died for us
So we could all be free.

He didn’t pick the rich ones.
He didn’t pick the poor.
He didn’t see black or white;
No colors, that’s for sure.

He didn’t just like certain folks.
He loved us, every one.
God new this from the start
And sent His only Son.

If we could see ourselves
In the situations that life brings,
Just think about how we would feel
If it was pulling on our strings.

I believe this would change things
And make our heart just melt.
We would be the first in line,
When someone cried for help.

Love is very special and
It's entrusted to our hearts.
If we don’t all find love,
Hate will tear our world apart.

I can say it very simple, but
We must get it in our head.
I think I will sum it up
With words that Jesus said.

"Love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul and
with all your mind."

Also, "You shall love your
neighbor as yourself."
